Davon Ortega

Davon is a lifelong athlete who found yoga while seeking a different type of physical challenge. After her first power yoga class in 2016, Davon was hooked. Her initial love of yoga practice was the way that it pushed her physical limits but it was the challenge of breath awareness and connection to movement that intrigued her. As a person who is constantly on the go, her consistent yoga practice over the last five years has strengthened her appreciation for the breath and the ability to become more present.

Davon completed her 200-hr certification in 2019 with the intention of deepening her personal practice but was immediately drawn to the idea of guiding others to use yoga to push past their self-imposed limitations. She centers on the use of the breath to get deeper into asanas while gaining a better sense of personal body awareness. Davon likes to focus on proper alignment, anatomy, building strength and endurance. Her classes are accessible to all levels as she encourages her students to push themselves outside of their comfort zone - whether it is to slow down and modify or explore how the body feels in new asanas and flows. Davon's goal is that each and every one of her students, despite the level of their practice, leaves her class feeling confident and empowered by their own abilities.

Davon has been the Head Softball Coach at Rider University since 2017 and has integrated her yoga practice and teaching into her work with her team.
