Kristine Altaro

Kristine began her journey with yoga nearly 20 years ago while completing her undergraduate degree in anthropology and religion at Rutgers University. Eternally curious about the traditions and rituals of human culture, she tapped into the infinite nature of this nearly 5,000 year old tradition. She recognized that she had discovered something extending far beyond stretching and committed to one day develop a deeper understanding of the science and philosophy of this ancient practice. In 2012 her path eventually led her to study with Swamini Shraddhananda Saraswati, the founder of Kula Kamala Yoga. Over the course of the last 8 years Kristine has evolved her training with alignment-based Hatha Yoga into a dynamic and challenging style of Vinyasa focused on breath, body awareness, and mindful presence. She experiences the fluidity of her practice and teaching as a moving meditation and encourages students to find their own stillness within movement.
