Erika Liskovec
Fitness has been a huge part of Erika's life for the past decade, but she didn't truly start to practice yoga until 2019. During grade school, most of her physical activity came from horseback riding. In college, she decided she wanted to get into shape, and found CrossFit - her first love in the fitness world. She quickly jumped all in, becoming a coach. CrossFit introduced her to weightlifting, which has since become her passion. She earned her sports performance coach certificate in weightlifting, and enjoys competing in local competitions with dreams of the big stage someday. Covid willing, she'll get there next year!
Body awareness and flexibility are key components to lifting, and something Erika was not gifted in. Having attended sporadic yoga classes in the past, she knew yoga could be the answer, and luckily walked through the door of Empower. Not only did it improve her lifting, but she found yoga to be so much more than she expected as she started connecting to her mind and body in a whole new way. She knew she had found a home in her practice. She earned her 200 hour certification in 2020, and enjoys creating challenging classes and looks to emphasize functional movement.
