Monica Frank (She/her)

Monica was first introduced to yoga in 2007 during a particularly tough time in her life. She felt deeply moved by the gentle poses and stillness and vowed to practice on a regular basis. However, life happened and despite having this eye-opening experience, she did not practice again until four years later when yoga was offered at her gym.  Monica remembered why she loved the practice and began going weekly, supplementing with online videos and seeking out local studios. In 2016, Monica joined Empower Yoga where she felt at home, and in 2019 completed their 200-hour certification.  She is dedicated to learning and incorporating all of the limbs of yoga into her life, and is eager to continue to grow as a yogi and teacher.

Monica is a licensed clinical social worker and licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor, with over ten years of experience working with individuals healing from substance use disorders and trauma. She has incorporated various aspects of yoga into her work and has witnessed how all aspects of yoga can help others on their journey of healing. She has completed workshops on bringing yoga into mental health treatment and plans to continue her yoga education through trauma sensitive training. Monica looks to bring a sense of playfulness, creativity and non-judgement into her classes, encouraging all students to just be, just breathe, and have a little fun while doing it!
