Rachel Perry
Rachel first began practicing yoga during her high school years in New York. Taking classes at her local gym and at school, yoga became a strong interest. After completing her senior thesis on yoga and its impact on the recovery of mental health disorders, Rachel knew there was something special about the physical and spiritual practice.
After graduating high school and deciding to attend Rider University, the progression of Rachel’s practice was interrupted. After receiving her undergraduate degree in psychology, she decided to pursue a masters degree in counseling. With her first semester of graduate school completed, Rachel sought to connect the emotional coping techniques she was learning in school with a physical practice, hoping to fostering wellness from the inside out.
Remembering how effective yoga was in the past, she unrolled her mat at Empower Yoga and has been practicing at the studio ever since. After completing her 200-hour teaching certification at Empower Yoga, Rachel is excited to lead students in their practice and strives to encourage self-care and mental wellness on and off the mat.
